Here's my Farseer on a Jetbike. It was a fairly simple kitbash using the new plastic Farseer and a Reaver. I had to green stuff the mid-section of the torso to work with the Reaver legs on the bike and also to extend the reach/position of both arms. With the flash on, you can clearly see these areas on the model.
I may still go back over these sections with some liquid green stuff to make sure the transitions are smooth before priming. Other than that, I'm happy with the overall look of this guy. He'll be joining my Archon and the Baron on the painting table soon to round out the HQ section of my list!
Only 3 more jetbikes and some transport crews to go before all assembly is complete. If I can stick to doing a little bit each night I should be in good shape. I'll try to get a quick group shot after the last squad is built so I can start to map out the display board and how to arrange everything so it fits.
Looking awesome! I just put 2 Warlocks on the old Reaver model and am still working on sculpting robes for their legs, I'll try to get some pics up in the near future.
ReplyDeleteHaha I made the same exact one. It was so nice of gw to make the new plastic farseer so easy to turn into a jetbike seer.
ReplyDeleteI was really glad they made a plastic farseer (instead of finecast); made things a whole lot easier. That is, until they start selling these: http://www.pbase.com/brimstone/image/86068853.jpg
ReplyDeleteHaha yeah, I used a metal warlock and a kneadatite molded copy for mine:

Very cool, I really need to try out some more molding, especially for some of these Eldar bits.
DeleteI've been cranking out bits, I'm glad I've got some practice doing it now, kneadatite sticks to the instant mold more than greenstuff, but its also cheaper. I've been making combi plasmas and plasma guns etc. I am planning to start making rubber molds after i try out the resin with the instant mold, specifically a deimos rhino. If I can get a decent master of that, I'll be able to make as many rhinos as I want lol.
DeleteAwesome job! I really like the head style and the robe/cloak on it. I'm planning on using Reavers for some of my Eldar bikers too -- namely my lancer aspect warriors and a warlock. It's encouraging to see a successful conversion first though.
ReplyDeleteThanks! I was really happy I didn't have to chop into the robe to make him fit (only some slight bending). The Reavers work great for Eldar jetbikes though since they have the same eldar-esque appearance - I didn't see it at first, but even the rivets on the back blades of the bike match the rivets on the Eldar head tying everything together.
