We're back baby!

Nurgle's covid pestilence be damned! The vaccinated be baccinated for super major grand tournaments in the States 😎 There really aren't words yet to describe what it feels like to be on this side of things... so lets start with some ACO pictures!

The event hall was perfect. Seriously, this is the IDEAL spacing for these super large events. I know it's not always possible to have this kind of square footage accessible to Tournament Organizers, but in a post-pandemic world where we've already had to make these operational and logistical adjustments for people's health & safety just to keep things going, if you're able to provide this kind of spacing at your events your attendees will love you for it. Plenty of space for lavish display boards and rolly carts; I even brought one of these:

The venue, Harrah's, was very nice. Really fast elevators, plenty of food options nearby & onsite. I honestly had a very pleasant and relaxing stay; would have been cool if the hotel were more downtown and along the iconic boardwalk, but that's not too far away and about the only negative thing I could say about the place. It was a great venue for the event.

I came more for the social side of things and only played in the Sunday RTT. As much as I would have loved to play more, I simply did not have the practice with my list, the ITC missions, or 9th edition in general to even toss my hat in the ring for the Champions event, but that seems like a reasonable goal for next year 😉 The games I did play were all friendly, fun, and super educational for me. My first opponent, JT, was incredibly gracious sharing his top-level knowledge and experience with me in our game -- he helped talk thru various options if I was about to make a rookie mistake and was just so kind and helpful throughout our entire game. I couldn't have asked for a better opponent or game to ease back into 40k with. Thanks JT!

the usual suspects in the top bracket

Congrats to Brad Chester, the Phil Mickelson of 40k :)

I had an incredible time and I can't wait to see you all at the next one. Cheers!
