Here are some interesting reads I stumbled upon this past week from the vast expanse of hobby blogs across the Internet.

I've been so busy these past few months that I neglected my RSS reader and surely missed out on some great content from the community. Now that things are starting to slow down a little and I can't work on  my own projects at the moment, I've turned my brief moments of downtime back to my bloglist and links from other prominent nerd-hubs to catch up on what's going on in the world of toy soldiers. And boy, I couldn't have picked a worse time to not pay attention -- the volume and pace of releases coming out of GW is staggering. Dataslates, Codexes, Supplements... it's a lot to keep up with. I'm not sure how I feel about all of it as I haven't really had time to absorb it all, let alone try the new stuff out on the table. So I'll avoid the 'state of 40k' discussions for now, but I will say that it made me extremely happy to see a Raven Guard player take best general at the Dark Star GT! Here's a shot of the army:

No deathstars to be seen, just a tidal wave of dark gray making the most of the Raven Guard chapter tactics. Well done!

While a couple weeks old at this point, it's worth mentioning that Raven Guard aren't the only Space Marine variant making the top tables; Iron Hands took the top spot at the Torrent of Fire Invitational. It's refreshing to see some non-Eldar/Tau/Daemon armies placing on top at competitive events again.

For some eye candy, check out this awesome Dark Eldar paint scheme from Den of Imagination:

In case you missed it, Warhammer made the mainstream with this special guest on Conan:

For anyone doubting Ansel's commitment to the tabletop (yes, I know he flubbed on the scale size; it's 28mm) check out his skill with a brush:

Good enough for a Golden Demon!
